Losing control?
Sometimes problems never seem to go away and nothing seems to help – like you're losing control. At times like this people react in different ways.
When this happens, the smartest thing you can do for yourself is to get help now. No-one has to face problems alone.
Some signs of losing control include:
- Avoiding meeting and mixing with people
- Finding it hard to cope with work and day to day living
- Fighting and arguing a lot
- Getting angry/ upset easily – even over small things
- Ongoing relationship problems
- Things piling up or being left undone
- Risky or careless behaviour (e.g. driving fast or dangerously)
- Using alcohol or recreational drugs to escape problem(s)
- Losing interest in things you enjoy
- Finding it hard to concentrate
- Problems not being dealt with
What to do
If this sounds like you, there is help out there. The smartest thing you can do for yourself is to get help now.
If the person you first turn to for support isn't helpful, try someone else.
Don't give up! Even in the hard times people usually get through problems. Support from others can often help a lot.
